Questions
Questions we get
Do you take my insurance?
Give us your plan's name and card number. Before the visit we check what it covers and tell you what we find. What each plan covers is the plan's decision.
What if I don't have insurance?
You pay according to your fee level, which depends on your family's income and how many people live in your home. Before any treatment you get the cost in writing.
Do you see patients with Medicaid or CHIP?
Call us before you come. We confirm whether we see patients with your coverage, and we promise nothing until it's confirmed.
Will it hurt?
Most people feel pressure, not pain, and we stop whenever you ask. If something worries you, tell us when you book and the dentist talks it over with you first.
How often do I need X-rays and a cleaning?
The dentist decides based on your mouth. They explain why they're asking for an X-ray and how often you should come back.
What is a deep cleaning?
It is a cleaning that reaches below the gums, when there is tartar there. The dentist shows you why they recommend it, and it can take one or two visits.
Do you see children? From what age?
Yes, Dr. Salgado sees children. For a baby or a very young child, call and Esperanza explains what the first visit is like.
What counts as a dental emergency?
A broken or knocked-out tooth, pain that won't ease or a bump on the gum. Call us today. If swelling spreads to your face, eye or neck, or you have trouble breathing or swallowing, go to an emergency room or call 911.
Do you offer sedation?
No. We use a local anesthetic to numb the area. If you need sedation, we refer you to an office that offers it.
Can I get the cost in writing before treatment?
Yes. It's the clinic's rule: no treatment starts until you have the cost in writing and say yes.
Do you speak Spanish?
Esperanza, Dr. Villalobos and Dr. Salgado speak Spanish and English. Dr. Leyva speaks English and some Spanish, and someone on the team who speaks Spanish is always in the room.
How do I cancel or change my appointment?
Call us or message us on WhatsApp as early as you can. We'll find you another time, no trouble.
Still have a question?
